NEED HELP FOR AN ANIMAL IN CRISIS?

If you’ve found an injured, abandoned, or distressed animal, there are safe and practical steps you can take first. In many cases, members of the public can safely provide immediate help or transport the animal to the appropriate support service without delay.

  • Ensure your own safety before approaching any animal 
  • Gently contain the animal using a towel, blanket, or box if safe to do so 
  • Keep the animal warm, quiet, and secure
  • Avoid excessive handling  
  • Transport the animal to a nearby vet if you can do so safely 
  • For wildlife, contact your local wildlife rescue service for advice or collection
